Nathan MacKinnon and Devon Toews from the Colorado Avalanche scored a total of 4 points in their game against the Nashville Predators. Alexandar Georgiev made 18 saves, while Mikko Rantanen had two assists helping the Avalanche win the game 4-3. On the other side, Kiefer Sherwood scored twice and Luke Evangelista added one point, with Kevin Lankinen making 30 saves. In the end, Colorado won and became Central Division champions by just one point over Dallas in division.
MacKinnon scored three goals in one game, giving him a total of 42 goals so far this season. The Avalanche recently won the Stanley Cup, so they’ll be trying to defend it against Seattle when the playoffs begin. Meanwhile, Buffalo’s Jeff Skinner had one goal and two assists as his team defeated Columbus in their last game.
Casey Mittelstadt had a goal and an assist, while Victor Olofsson, Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs all scored for the Buffalo Sabres. Devon Levi made 29 amazing saves which stopped the opponent from scoring more goals. Despite their efforts, Buffalo failed to make the playoffs this season – making it 12 straight seasons in a row without them entering the playoffs – the longest streak of its kind in the NHL.
Johnny Gaudreau and Tyler Angler scored for the Columbus team which ended their season in 31st place. This means that they have guaranteed one of the highest four picks in the NHL Draft. Jon Gillies saved 24 shots before he was substituted in the third period by Michael Hutchinson, who made 7 saves.
