Connor McDavid recently achieved an extraordinary feat in the NHL– he’s the only player to score 150 points in a hockey season since 1993! The people who were able to do this before him are Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Phil Esposito, Steve Yzerman, and Bernie Nichols. As of now, with two games left before the end of the regular season, McDavid has earned 151 total points!

Zach Hyman, Derek Ryan and Philip Broberg all scored goals to help the Oilers win their seventh straight game. This victory was important as it put Edmonton three points ahead of Los Angeles in the Pacific Division, making them closer to getting home-ice advantage in the playoffs. Stuart Skinner blocked 22 shots while playing goalie for the Oilers.

For the Sharks, Tomas Hertl scored a goal, but they are still guaranteed to end up in last place overall. James Reimer stopped 30 shots when he was the goalie for San Jose.

The Penguins beat the Red Wings 5 to 1.

Sidney Crosby became one of the 15 best hockey players in NHL history by scoring two goals and assisting another teammate in an important game. He’s achieved 550 goals and 950 assists so far, reaching 1,500 points faster than any other player before him at only 1,188th games played. It’s also a record for him; he is the 12th player to reach 90 points or higher when they are 35 years old or older!

Alex Nylander, Danton Heinen and Evgeni Malkin scored goals in a game for the Pittsburgh Penguins team. The Penguins want to make it into one of the final designated spots in the Eastern Conference before the end of the regular season. Tristan Jarry stopped 19 shots and earned his third win in a row against the Detroit Red Wings team.

Pius Suter got 1 goal for the Red Wings which was his 14th goal this season, almost reaching his record from last year with 15 goals. Ville Husso ended up making 23 saves during the game.

The Boston Bruins won 2-1 over New Jersey Devils!

The Boston Bruins recently won an important game and Pavel Zacha scored two times in the very start of the game. The win means the team ties an NHL record with their 62nd victory of the season. They still have three more games to try and beat a record set by two different teams back in 1995-96 and 2018-19 seasons. Linus Ullmark stopped 29 shots and it was their fifth consecutive win, plus their twelfth out of thirteen games.

The Devils got a goal from Jesper Bratt and 38 saves by Mackenzie Blackwood. That put them one point behind the Carolina team in their division and two points ahead of the Rangers. Jack Hughes helped with the goal, which meant he had 96 points for the whole season – that’s the same as what Patrik Eliáš got!

In another game, Roope Hintz scored the only goal in a shootout so Dallas moved into first place in their division.

Dallas has 102 points and only three games left in the regular season. They were at the same amount of points as the last season’s champions, Colorado, who still had 3 games after they played on Saturday night.

The first division-leading team Vegas will have a home advantage for the playoffs with 107 points. This is two more points than Edmonton with their 6-1 victory at San Jose.

Brett Howden made 1 point in the first period for Vegas while Jonathan Quick had 24 saves.

At the Sabres vs Hurricanes game, Joel Kiviranta scored for Dallas in the second period and Jake Oettinger had 19 saves. In the third period, Tage Thompson got the winning goal 6:15 into it. Rasmus Dahlin also scored a goal, and made two assists plus blocked a shot that was important to Buffalo’s win. This win gives them hope of making it to playoffs.

Casey Mittelstadt scored two goals and the Buffalo team (the Sabres) won the game. This win was important, because if they had lost, it would have meant that their chance of getting into the playoffs were over and they would have to wait another year – making it 12 years in a row now – where they haven’t been able to get into the playoffs.

Devon Levi, a rookie for the Buffalo Sabres, stopped thirty-two shots and improved his record to three wins out of four games. His team finished this season with 39 wins which is the most since 2011-12.

Sebastian Aho scored his thirty-fifth goal of the season which was the most goals scored in one season by any Carolina Hurricanes player. He was joined in on scoring by Seth Jarvis and Jesper Fast. Antii Raanta tried hard against these players but he only made twenty-six saves resulting in him losing just his third game this season.

The Avalanche defeated the Kings 4-3.

The Colorado Avalanche won their fourth game in a row, with Denis Malgin scoring twice and Brad Hunt and Alex Newhook also each getting one goal. Alexandar Georgiev did an awesome job of making 37 saves for the win! They are now tied with Dallas in first place for their Central Division with one more game to play. Meanwhile, they have achieved an impressive nine straight victories on the road – this is the longest streak in team history!

Adrian Kempe scored twice, Viktor Arvidsson hit a power-play goal, and the Kings lost their third straight game since making the playoffs. Pheonix Copley saved 19 shots.

Also, the Coyotes defeated the Ducks in overtime with Barrett Hayton’s goal 4 minutes into overtime which extended Anaheim’s losing streak to 10 games.

Max Jones scored a goal with 1 minute and 52 seconds left in the game, giving the Ducks their first lead. But Matias Maccelli tied it back with just 36 seconds until the end of the game by taking advantage of having an extra player on the field when Ivan Prosvetov, who was in goal for Arizona, had to go off.

Arizona’s Clayton Keller also managed to score his 37th goal of the season. Christian Fischer and Lawson Crouse were able to get on board too; Crouse managed this while they were playing with an advantage (powerplay). J.J Moser did his part by getting two assists, while Prosvetov blocked 25 goals throughout the entire game.

Adam Henrique scored two times, and Ryan Strome got a goal plus two assists. The Anaheim Ducks are the same amount of points as the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets; they haven’t won since beating the Blue Jackets at home on March 17th.

John Gibson of the Ducks was ill, so Olle Eriksson Ek from the AHL was brought in and he stopped 33 shots. In another game, the Jets beat the Predators 2-0.

Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves and got his 4th win of the season without letting any goals in! Neal Pionk and Mark Scheifele scored which helped the Winnipeg Jets team get one huge step towards getting the final spot in the playoffs. Jusse Soros tried to stop all 36 shots, but the Nashville Predators weren’t able to beat Winnipeg and are now three points behind them in the standings. In other news, Panthers won against Capitals with a score of 4-2.

Matthew Tkachuk scored a goal with 1 minute left in the game, and he also had two assists. Sam Reinhart got one goal and one assist, plus Carter Verhaege and Aaron Ekblad each got a goal too! This win gives Florida their sixth victory in a row, which puts them back on top of the Eastern Conference wild card standings. They now have 91 points – just like the New York Islanders – but Florida’s tiebreaker means they stay at number one.

Aleksander Barkov helped the Panthers with two assists and Alex Lyon saved 22 shots from them. Tom Wilson had one goal and one assist, and Dylan Strome also scored for Washington but they ended up losing six times in a row. As a result of that loss, Washington won’t be making it to Stanley Cup Playoffs this year. Charlie Lindgren tried his best by saving 33 shots in vain.

Igor Shesterkin didn’t let anything through when playing against New York as he successfully stopped all 20 shots coming his way. This was his third total shutout of the season and 11th career shutout!

Jimmy Vesey, Chris Kreider, Niko Mikkola and Vincent Trocheck all scored. Mika Zibanejad also helped by adding two assists for the Rangers team. This means that with these points from the game, they were two points closer to New Jersey in the race for second place in their division. The winning of second place will have the benefit of them playing their first round playoffs at home. But Devils had a game lined up against Boston on Saturday night which could decide who stands where in the Metro Division.

Michael Hutchinson played his 150th NHL game for the Columbus team and he stopped 24 shots during the game. Unfortunately, they have lost 6 out of their last 7 games and their point tally is the same as Chicago Blackhawks which is 56 points.

In addition to that, Scott Mayfield, Brock Nelson & Samuel Bolduc each scored in a match involving New York team and Ilya Sorokin made 27 saves which kept them in contention for Eastern Conference’s Wild-Card Race.

Hudson Fasching scored a goal for the Islanders, helping them stay one point ahead of Pittsburgh and keep up with Florida in their last chance to get one of the two best spots for the Eastern Conference playoffs. Bo Horvat and Simon Holmstrom each had two assists too. Carter Hart saved 15 shots and Felix Sandstrom saved two in the third period. That was enough to beat the Blues 5-3!

Ryan Hartman and Sam Steel scored back-to-back goals in just 20 seconds during the first period of the game! Freddy Gaudreau, Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin also all scored to help the Minnesota Wild win after losing three games in a row. Filip Gustavsson made a total 37 saves in the match. Kirill Kaprizov, who was recently injured for thirteen games and missed this match, wasn’t able to get any points during the game.

Pavel Buchnevich, Sammy Blais and Jake Neighbours scored for the Blues team. Justin Faulk also gave two assists. The goalie Jordan Binnington stopped 24 shots from the opponent and St. Louis won the game 6-3-1 in their past 10 matches even though they are not competing in playoffs.

In a separate game, Ottawa beat Tampa Bay 7-4 with help from Egor Sokolov scoring his first ever NHL goal! Drake Batherson, Julien Gauthier, Patrick Brown, Alex DeBrincat, Mark Kastelic and Claude Giroux all scored goals as well while Cam Talbot saved 19 shots from their opponents.

Alex Killorn, Brandon Hagel, Victor Hedman and Brayden Point scored goals for the Tampa Bay team. Meanwhile, Brian Elliott made 33 saves to help them out. The Lightning team is going to play Toronto in the playoffs soon but have lost three games in a row now.

In another game, Kraken got 7 points and beat the Blackhawks. Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann and Daniel Sprong each scored one point with an assist by their teammates so that Seattle took home their fourth consecutive win!

On Thursday, the second-year Kraken made it to the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time. Eeli Tolvanen, Yanni Gourde, Adam Larsson and Morgan Geekie all scored goals while Jamie Oleksiak provided three assists. Martin Jones played two periods in goal and had 15 saves, then Philipp Grubauer took over at the start of third period and stopped 11 shots.

Seth Jones scored twice for Chicago, but unfortunately the team still lost; this was the 10th loss in 11 games. As a result of their losses, Chicago and Columbus are tied for last place with 56 points in the NHL. Lukas Reichel also scored, while Petr Mrazek made 24 saves.

Mitch Marner had two goals and an assist when Toronto played Montreal; this helped him reach his highest ever score of 98 points this season! In the end, Toronto beat Montreal 7-1.

John Tavares scored two goals, Auston Matthews got a goal and three assists, William Nylander and Michael Bunting also scored. Ilya Samsonov blocked 20 shots, Ryan O’Reilly and Erik Gustafsson both had 3 helpers.

The Maple Leafs needed a backup goalie while Matt Murray was injured and so signed Jett Alexander from the University of Toronto as a temporary replacement. Jonathan Kovacevic scored for Montreal and Sam Montembeault got 39 saves in the game. Canucks won 3-2 against Flames in the end after a shoot-out.

In Vancouver, Canada, Andrei Kuzmenko scored the winning goal during a shootout! Elias Pettersson and Cole McWard also scored for Vancouver during the match. McWard even earned his first NHL point in this game. Lastly, Thatcher Demko made 41 saves to help Vancouver win.

Elias Lindholm and Nazem Kadri scored goals in the third period for the Flames, helping them force extra time. Jacob Markstrom had an amazing night, making 31 saves. The Flames now have one point more than the Jets which puts them closer to having the second wild card spot in their conference. Both teams only got two or three games left of their regular season.

In the overtime round, Kuzmenko skated close to Calgary’s net and put a shot at the very top of the goal, giving his team the win!
