Brisson, speaking to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, emphasized Kane’s desire for a long and successful career. Although Kane’s performance with the Rangers fell short of expectations, tallying only 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 19 regular-season games, he displayed some postseason contributions. During the team’s opening round playoff series against the New Jersey Devils, Kane notched a goal and five assists while logging 17 minutes and 22 seconds of ice time.

At 34 years old, Kane has just completed the final year of an eight-year, $84 million contract that he had signed with the Blackhawks.
